I agree w/ everyone else. If the outfit doesn't look nurse-like, then the shoes won't. I got the purple version of these from pacsun.com & I hope to get the white ones soon. I love them. (:

I think they're fine - I don't think nurse when I see these, I always think of Baby in Dirty Dancing -- and when I was in middle school and we'd get the scrunchy curly laces put in them so we didn't actually have to tie them :D
