OMG!!! I was just in LA yesterday and I went on a mega shopping spree! Well If you want Vintage stores definitely go on Melrose, I found a adorable pair of white shorts at a vintage store there. But if you really want to shop for new clothes then I would go to the Grove which is a huge shopping center and it has Anthropoligie, Nordstroms, VS, and everything else!

I 2nd the vote for Melrose Ave. It is known for it's vintage & thrift stores. Robertson Blvd has replaced Rodoe Drive for the younger celeb crowd since it has more young hip designers & stores. Rodeo is stuffy in my opinion. For entertainment & shopping there's always Hollywood & Highland.

If you're into thrift store shopping, you should try and move a little ways away from actual LA. Last summer I was in Temple City (LA county) and ended up in a thrift store with TONS of great stuff at great prices. I'd tell you the name/location if I could remember.

My main point is, try and get to the outskirts a little bit. Thrift stores in dense cities always have higher prices and higher turn over rates, so a lot of the really good items go too fast. Have fun! Bring sunblock!

you have to go to Chinese Laundry store they are in the Topanga Mall, besides other great shaping stores are there, is the best mall I visited in the last 6 moths, the mall is at 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd #2046 Canoga Park, CA 91303, Have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! in LA

Topanga Mall is my favorite, luckily I live within driving distance and visit it whenever I need something special or just cos. It is upscale and awesome. It also has a Sephora which I love.

Never been to California, but you have lots of good leads. Can't wait to read about it when you get back...but, hey, you haven't even left yet. Enjoy every minute!

Don;t really know of places in LA, buuuut...in New Holland, PA there is this AMA-zing chain of thrift shops called the Reuzit run by the Menonites...they have the best vintage finds for dirt cheap (depending on when you go!....
