It's no secret we're hooked on houndstooth over here at Kaboodle HQ. So, you can be sure we instantly fell for this houndstooth dress ($40) from Target. It's got a great Mad Men vibe going on and would work both at the office and at an after-work holiday party. That's our kind of dress!

We have been lovin' the Halloween edition What I'm Wearing blogs you all have been posting. Since I'll rocking the broken toe look—aka no heels— for the next few weeks (I tripped wearing a pair of heels and chipped one of my toe bones!), I thought I'd devote a post to sensible and stylish shoes. As foxy as heels are, we can't wear them all the time and these flats are just the things to snazz up your favorite casual jeans outfits. I need some...so I don't have to wear slippers for the next month!

Fellow Kaboodle editor Jennifer hipped me to these amazing duck-shaped heels from Chie Mihara ($350 at Anthropologie) yesterday and it was love at first sight for both of us. The suede ankle-strap shoes (which already have a rather duck-like profile) are accented with a mallard-shaped cutout on each toe. I need these shoes!
